Job Description

Director of Training & Development Charleston, SC | Full-Time Position Overview We are looking for a Director of Training & Development to lead the learning and development function for a national network of independently owned business locations. This role is responsible for building and managing the programs that help franchise owners and their teams grow revenue, develop their people, and operate more effectively. This is not an internal corporate training role. The work is focused outward, on the business owners in our network and the results they produce. The right candidate understands what it takes to run a producing team, can build curriculum from the ground up, and is comfortable advising owners on recruiting, sales, and business operations at a strategic level. What You Will Do Set and execute the training strategy for the network, covering recruiting and sourcing, sales and business development, P&L management, and day-to-day operations Lead a team of training professionals responsible for curriculum development and program delivery across the network Build and maintain content that stays current with industry trends, emerging tools, and the practical needs of business owners at different stages of growth Manage delivery of live and virtual training programs, including onboarding for new franchise owners and ongoing development for established locations Work directly with franchise owners to identify skill and performance gaps and develop targeted solutions, whether through formal training, one-on-one coaching, or operational guidance Incorporate AI tools, automation platforms, and recruiting technology into training content to keep the network ahead of industry shifts Report on training effectiveness using real performance data and participant feedback, and adjust programs accordingly Collaborate with senior leadership on business planning, technology rollouts, and other initiatives that affect how the network operates and grows What We Are Looking For 7 to 10 years of experience in staffing, recruiting, or a closely related field, with significant experience in training, development, or operational leadership Background working with or within a franchise system or distributed business network is a strong plus Proven track record of building training programs and curriculum, not just facilitating existing content Solid understanding of P&L, revenue growth, and what drives performance at the office or branch level Strong communicator who can work effectively with owners, managers, and front-line recruiters across a wide range of experience levels Working knowledge of AI tools, recruiting technology, and learning platforms Experience leading and developing a team Based in Charleston, SC or willing to relocate Why This Role This is a senior role with real scope. You will have direct influence on how hundreds of business owners develop their teams, grow their revenue, and run their operations. There is room to build here, not just maintain what exists.
Pay:
$125,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
