Scottsdale Community College (SCC) is seeking a full-time Program Director for the Career Services Department. This position will plan, direct, and evaluate college-wide career services programs, overseeing strategic operations across multiple business units. The program director will lead initiatives that support student career development and collaborate with stakeholders to enhance program effectiveness.
To best serve the students, department, and college, this position requires a physical presence on campus, with the possibility of partial remote work depending on business needs.

- Provides college-wide strategic leadership and administrative oversight Provides vision, direction, and administration for comprehensive career services and workforce development functions; leads college-wide strategy for career development, job placement, internships, and workforce-aligned initiatives; ensures integration of career development across the student lifecycle and alignment with college, district, and regional workforce priorities.

- Leads employer, industry, and community engagement strategy
Develops and implements strategies to establish and sustain partnerships with employers, industry leaders, and community organizations; expands internships, job placement, and work-based learning opportunities; represents the college in workforce and economic development initiatives.

- Supervises personnel and manages departmental operations
Hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates staff; establishes performance expectations and supports professional development; directs daily operations of career services, including service delivery, programming, and student engagement.

- Directs workforce alignment and cross-functional collaboration
Leads collaboration with academic affairs, student services, and external partners to align programs with workforce needs; supports development of work-based learning, customized training, and grant-funded initiatives; serves as a liaison across college and district functions.

- Directs assessment, compliance, and resource management
Oversees use of labor market data and student outcomes to drive decision-making and continuous improvement; ensures compliance with applicable policies, regulations, and accreditation standards; directs budget, resource allocation, and reporting requirements.
Performs other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED
Performs, directs and oversees the conduct of performance evaluations, training, hiring, discipline and termination procedures.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Work is performed according to overall management and strategic objectives. Work is reviewed for outcomes produced and results obtained.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in education, educational leadership or related field and four (4) years of educational program administration experience that includes two years of management and supervision. OR
An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered.
Desired Qualifications
A. Experience leading career services, workforce development, or employer engagement functions in a higher education setting, preferably at a community college.
B. Experience developing and sustaining partnerships with employers, industry, or workforce agencies that resulted in internships, job placement, or work-based learning opportunities.
C. Experience aligning programs or services with labor market data or regional workforce needs.
D. Experience collaborating with faculty and/or academic leadership to integrate career readiness or experiential learning into curriculum or programs.
E. Experience supervising staff and managing operations in a complex or multi-functional environment.
F. Experience managing budgets, grants, or externally funded workforce or training initiatives.
G. Experience using career services platforms, labor market data tools, or student information systems.
H. Experience conducting program assessment, using data to evaluate outcomes, or supporting accreditation/compliance processes.
I. One year of full-time, relevant MCCCD experience within the previous two years.

All travel-related expenses to campus during the interview and selection process will be the candidate's responsibility.

May be required to work evenings and weekends.
May require prolonged periods of sitting and viewing a computer screen.
May be required to lift or carry up to 25 lbs.
This position requires a physical presence on campus with possible partial remote work depending on business needs to best serve the students, department, and college.
Will work outdoors in a variety of temperatures and environmental conditions.
Will be required to work in an area of light to heavy noise levels daily.
