A DAY IN THE LIFE
As the Director of Learning & Development at Mo' Bettahs, you will lead the strategy, development, and execution of training and leadership development programs across our rapidly growing restaurant brand. With 75+ locations across the United States, this role is responsible for building scalable training systems that support operational excellence, leadership development, and team member growth. You will partner closely with Operations, HR, and Executive Leadership to design and implement learning programs that strengthen the leadership pipeline, enhance team member performance, and ensure every location delivers the authentic Mo' Bettahs experience. This role plays a critical part in preserving the company's culture while supporting expansion into new markets.WHAT YOU'LL DO
Develop and execute a comprehensive Learning & Development strategy that supports company growth and operational excellence. Design and implement training programs for restaurant team s , including Team Members, Shift Leads, General Managers, and District Managers . Lead the development and implementation of leadership development programs to build a strong internal pipeline of future leaders. Create scalable onboarding and training programs that support existing locations as well as new store openings and market expansion. Oversee the development of training materials including playbooks, digital learning content, certification programs, and operational training resources. Optimize and manage a Learning Management System (LMS) to track training completion, certifications, and development progress. Partner with Operations leadership to ensure training supports food safety, operational consistency, and productivity goals. Evaluate training effectiveness using data, feedback, and performance metrics, continuously improving programs and content. Champion Mo' Bettahs ' culture, hospitality standards, and Aloha spirit through all learning and development initiatives. Build and lead the Learning & Development team, including trainers and facilitators, while managing external training partners as needed.WHAT YOU'LL NEED
5 + years of experience in Learning & Development, Training, or Talent Development 3+ years of leadership experience managing training programs or L&D teams Experience designing and scaling training programs in multi-unit restaurant, retail, or hospitality environments Experience implementing or managing Learning Management Systems (LMS) Strong instructional design and leadership development skills Excellent facilitation, communication, and stakeholder partnership abilities Strategic thinker with the ability to translate strategy into scalable training programs Passion for developing people, leaders, and strong team cultures Ability to build relationships and influence across all levels of the organization Willingness to travel to restaurant locations as neededWORKING CONDITIONS
The position requires qualified individuals to see, hear, and speak (verbally and audibly). Required to ascend and descend stairs; sit and stand for extended periods of time; lift up to 30 pounds; bend, stoop, and kneel. May be required to work outside in various weather conditions. May be required to work on a computer for extended periods of time, including viewing the screen, using a mouse, manipulating a keyboard with hands, and reaching with arms. May be asked to drive or travel by car, air, or other transportation for business purposes. Must be able to function effectively in a fast-paced working environment. Must be able to report to work responsive, free from sedatives, and in a non-sedative state. Must disclose prescribed and/or over-the-counter pharmaceuticals that may impair or affect the ability to perform the job's essential functions. Natural and regular stressors occur on the job.
