JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for the development and management of all training, re-training, mentoring, competencies, and CPR certifications for blood donor collections staff. Ensures new team members have engaging experience during technical training, integration into the team and orientation to the organization, department, and culture. Collaborates with the Leadership Team of the department to maintain process consistency, uphold training requirements, ensure high levels of quality and compliance and pursue opportunities for improvement.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
(other duties may be assigned): 1. Creates and implements effective and engaging training process for new staff that ensures successful integration into the organization and department. 2. Develops and deploys training methods and materials that provide for effective knowledge transfer and skill development among new and existing staff. 3. Manages all training activities for the blood collection department to include initial training, re-training, promotional training, process update training, certification training and competency assessments. Monitors and ensures all training is completed and required. 4. Provides guidance, feedback, and instructions to staff members performing training or mentoring functions to ensure consistent training experience for all staff. 5. Maintains proficiency as a trainer by working in operational areas on a regular basis. 6. Utilizes appropriate adult learning principles to ensure the development of effective learning tactics and environments for the various types of training conducted within the department. 7. Identifies training needs and make and implements recommendations for changes in curriculum for new hire training, re-training, cross-training, and competency evaluations. 8. Identifies trends in errors through data analysis and makes recommendations for process improvements and enhancements of training materials and methods. 9. Assists in developing and writing SOPs, training documents, and related forms based on need and regulatory requirements, as required.JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree or related equivalent experience 2-3 years of training experience in a technical setting Knowledgeable in medical terminology Phlebotomy and donor screening experience required. Training with Adult Learners is required. CPR certification required within 6 months of employment Knowledge ofAABB/FDA
(highly desired) Previous medical training or certification is preferred Must maintain personal competency and expertise in current practice Timeliness in dissemination of knowledge Excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills Strong interpersonal skills and computer literate Effective coach, skilled in observation of operational tasks Skilled in accurate documentation with emphasis on detail Skilled in utilizing resource materials accurately High level of assessment skills Employee may occasionally be required to lift objects or materials weighing up to 50 pounds.BENEFITS AND PERKS
