JOB FUNCTION / SUMMARY
The Senior Training Specialist is responsible for supporting the design, development, coordination, and facilitation of comprehensive training programs that support the bank's strategic goals, adherence and understanding of the bank's policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and talent development initiatives. This role serves as a subject matter expert in learning and development, partnering with leadership to identify and support training needs and skill development, ensuring employees are equipped with knowledge and skills needed to perform effectively.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborate with Training Manager to develop learning plans and training materials for blended learning solutions (in person, virtual, self-paced), primary facilitator of instructor led and virtual training sessions for bank staff.
Provide input for training strategy and the approach to specific training development plans evaluating training effectiveness through feedback and performance outcomes.
Create reference and support tools that reinforce training needs and performance improvement.
Maintain and update training materials, adapting to changes that occur to ensure alignment with bank goals, regulatory requirements, and operational needs.
Mentorship of trainees beyond classroom through follow up/feedback, creation of reference and support tools that reinforce training for optimal performance and role/skill mastery.
Managing and optimizing the Learning Management System (LMS) and training reporting processes.
Any other duties as assigned by Management.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
3+ years of experience in training, learning & development, banking, or related field.
Basic instructional design skills (develop presentations, guides, and learning content)
Excellent facilitation and presentation skills across multiple audience levels; in-person and virtually
Ability to learn and apply regulatory and operational training requirements
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills with all levels of the organization
Strong customer service mindset
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with LMS platforms
Demonstrated critical thinking skills
High school diploma or equivalent
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
5+ years of experience in training, learning & development, banking, or related field
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, Education, or a related field
Professional certifications (e.g., SHRM-CP/SCP, ATD, CPTD)
Experience in community banking or financial services training
Strong understanding of financial products and services, regulatory training requirements and risk awareness.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to measure training effectiveness and recommend improvements
Experience supporting leadership development or management training programs
Expertise in adult learning theory and advanced instructional design methodologies
Ability to align training strategy with organizational goals and workforce planning
Strong change in management and organizational development capabilities
