Full Job Description Youth Development Professional Job Description TITLE:
Youth Development Professional (YDP)

$20 per hour Must be 18 years or older
PRIMARY FUNCTION
The Youth Development Professional's responsibility is to supervise and oversee club members in an academic setting. The YDP will assist, guide, and support club members with their academics. Applicant must be available to work afternoons Monday through Friday. Your primary room will be the technology center however there will be other times when you are working in other areas of the club. This position will oversee the daily operations of our newly renovated Tech Center. The ideal candidate will create an engaging, supportive space that fosters academic success and technological proficiency, aligning with our mission to prepare youth for future opportunities. Strong organizational skills and a passion for youth development are essential.
KEY ROLES
(Essential Job Responsibilities): Prepare Youth for Success Plan, implement, supervise, and evaluate activities in the core areas of Education, Arts & Crafts, and Recreation Supervise activities of members, while reinforcing positive attitudes and social skills Assist members in school's academic programs Provide guidance and role modeling Ensure quality improvement and promote stimulating participation Provide support to Director of Youth Services, other site staff, and volunteers Assisting youth with homework using tools like Google Drive, Canva, and Microsoft suite Facilitating coding to build problem-solving and computer programming skills Teaching essential computer basics such as typing, internet safety, and software navigation. Health & Safety Ensure a healthy and safe environment for all members at all times Maintain a clean and disinfected workplace Administrative Provide administrative support Maintain the classroom calendars
RELATIONSHIPS
Internal:
Maintain contact with the leadership team to exchange information, seek and give assistance, consultation and direction.
External:
Maintains contact with the community/parents. Establish and maintain positive relationships with members' parents/guardians.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
Communication skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
Typically works in an indoor and outdoor environment with mostly walking & standing. Ability to lift at least 20 pounds. Ability to work with frequent interruptions and changes in work priorities, ability to prioritize tasks, ability to maintain confidentiality.
