San Diego County, CA (Field/On-site) About the Role The New Car Dealer's Association (NCDA) of San Diego County is seeking a dynamic, experienced, and highly motivated Automotive Sales Trainer to lead our California Sales Training Academy. As an independent contractor, you will be the face of our training program, responsible for shaping the next generation of automotive sales professionals. This role offers an excellent balance of direct classroom instruction and field-based relationship building. You will step into a program with a successfully implemented sales curriculum and an active registration funnel for our free training program, giving you a strong foundation to build upon and grow. Schedule & Flexibility This contract role offers highly flexible scheduling outside of active instruction days.
Active Training Days:
Courses are scheduled once every two weeks for three consecutive days ( Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday ).
Hours:
9:00 AM - 3:30 PM on active training days.
Non-Training Days:
Flexible scheduling for curriculum development, dealer outreach, and relationship management. Key Responsibilities Training & Instruction Deliver engaging, high-energy automotive sales training to in-house applicants and new hires sent by our franchise dealer network. Maintain, update, and create curriculum and lesson plans to ensure training remains relevant to current market trends. Utilize and manage our existing registration funnel to coordinate attendees for the free training program. Encourage, mentor, and inspire attendees to achieve success in the automotive sales industry. Outreach & Dealer Relations Actively conduct outreach to the NCDA franchise dealer network to support, promote, and grow the California Sales Training Academy. Routinely visit local dealerships to foster strong relationships with General Managers and Sales Managers. Encourage dealerships to utilize the Academy by sending their new hires for onboarding and foundational sales training. What We Are Looking For Proven experience in automotive sales, sales management, or automotive training (F&I, Desk Management, or General Sales Management experience is a plus). Strong presentation and public speaking skills with the ability to command a room and keep students engaged. A self-starter mentality, capable of managing your own schedule and driving results as an independent contractor. Excellent networking and relationship-building skills to connect with dealership management across San Diego County. Familiarity with sales funnels and basic lead management is preferred.
