Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and energetic Youth Development Professional to join our team in the Riverside (Crestview) and Defuniak Springs areas. In this vital role, you will create a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children and youth, fostering their growth through educational activities, recreational programs, and mentorship. Your enthusiasm and dedication will inspire young minds, promote positive behavior, and support their overall development. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children while gaining valuable experience in youth programming and education. Duties Plan, organize, and lead age-appropriate activities that promote childhood development, including arts, sports, theater, and educational games Manage classroom or activity space effectively through strong classroom management and behavior management techniques Provide guidance and support to children with diverse needs, including those requiring special education accommodations Ensure safety by applying first aid procedures when necessary and maintaining a secure environment at all times Collaborate with parents, teachers, and community partners to support children's social-emotional well-being and academic progress Implement childcare best practices during daycare or camp programs, ensuring compliance with licensing standards Use tutoring strategies to assist children with homework or learning challenges in subjects such as early childhood education or childhood development Experience Prior experience working with children or in childcare settings such as daycare, camp, babysitting, or tutoring is highly desirable Knowledge of classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies Familiarity with special education needs and inclusive teaching practices Experience in sports coaching, theater arts, or Christian counseling is a plus for enriching program activities Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred; ongoing training in childhood development or early childhood education is advantageous Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children of various ages and backgrounds in a dynamic environment Join us to empower youth through engaging programs that foster growth, creativity, and confidence!
