Full Job Description Training Specialist Non-FAA Covered Position Role Summary/Purpose:
The Training Specialist is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of site training programs that support employee capability, regulatory compliance, and business performance. Reporting to the HR Director, this role partners with site leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure employees are trained and qualified to perform their work safely, effectively, and in accordance with applicable requirements.
Essential Responsibilities:
Lead training strategy and execution for the site in alignment with business goals, workforce needs, and regulatory requirements. Conduct training needs analysis to identify skill gaps and capability requirements across functions. Design, develop, implement, and improve training programs using adult learning principles and operational best practices. Ensure training programs and records comply with FAA Part 145 requirements and applicable internal and external standards. Maintain training matrices, qualification requirements, and role-based training plans. Utilize LMS and other training tools to assign, track, and report training completion and effectiveness. Ensure training records are accurate, complete, and audit-ready. Deliver effective training and partner with subject matter experts to develop relevant, current instructional materials. Support onboarding, recurrent training, compliance training, and employee development initiatives. Partner cross-functionally with operations, quality, engineering, EHS, and HR to align training with site priorities. Use metrics, feedback, and audit results to improve training effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, or high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of relevant experience. 2-4 years of experience in training, learning and development, quality, compliance, or operations in a manufacturing, repair, or regulated environment. Strong understanding of compliance, documentation, and training recordkeeping requirements. Desired Characteristics Master's degree in a relevant field. Aerospace, MRO, or repair site experience. Knowledge of FAA Part 145 requirements. Experience with LMS and e-learning platforms. Strong communication, facilitation, and project management skills. Demonstrated ability to work across functions and influence stakeholders. Continuous improvement mindset. Physical Demands / Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
