POSITION SUMMARY
The Provider Application Training Specialist is responsible for training and educational support of providers (physicians, NPs, PAs) in their use of clinical applications with an emphasis on the Epic electronic health record (EHR). The Provider Application Training Specialist ensures training aligns with Health First-specific workflows and bridges the knowledge gap between Epic's foundational curriculum and organizational practices. The Provider Application Training Specialist also develop curricula and conduct provider training for non-Epic clinical applications, work with providers directly to improve proficiency with clinical application use and assist with optimization efforts, benefiting experienced, licensed clinicians with solid knowledge of provider workflows.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITES
Delivers Epic-led and supplemental training for providers, ensuring alignment with Health First workflows. Provides continuing education to optimize provider adoption and satisfaction. Collaborates with clinical leadership to tailor training for provider-specific needs. Collaborates with User Provisioning to ensure appropriate training and facilitation of rapid provisioning upon training completion. Builds customer rapport and serves as the liaison between Information Technology (IT) and customer regarding clinical application use. Maintains accurate communication around training schedules and completion reports. Acts as a resource for providers during go-live and post-live optimization activities, including user setting labs. Develops and maintains training resources such as tip sheets and video demonstrations. Collects and analyzes provider feedback to continuously improve training programs. Participates in and represents the department in organization-wide committees and meetings. Participates in the IT Change Management process as it relates to changes with clinical application use. Collaborate with other IATE specialists to support interdisciplinary learning. Work Experience
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Allied Health, Education, or relevant field.
Work Experience:
Three (3) years of Allied Healthcare, Informatics, or Education experience in a Multispecialty Physician group or Acute Care. Minimum of two (2) years working directly with providers and clinical workflows.
Licensure:
None Certification:
Epic certified or accredited within six (6) months of start date.
Work Experience In Lieu of Education:
Additional Six (6) years Allied Healthcare, Informatics, or Clinical Education experience in a Multispecialty Physician group or Acute Care. Additional two (2) years working directly with providers and clinical workflows.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
Previous experience as a SuperUser or clinical trainer/preceptor. Proficient in Microsoft Office - Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of customers in a diverse healthcare environment. Strong professional verbal communications skills with the ability to clearly enunciate and convey information. Able to work independently, interdependently, and collaboratively. Able to handle stress and dynamic work situations to meet customer needs and deadlines. Able to prepare educational materials in a timely, professional manner. Able to effectively function as a facilitator.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Master's degree in Nursing, Informatics, Education, Healthcare Administration, or relevant field.
Work Experience:
Previous experience delivering virtual training or supporting virtual learning environments. Previous experience facilitating live training in a small classroom setting.
Licensure:
Licensed Allied Health Professional (i.e., RN, LPN, PT, RD, etc.).
Certification:
Epic certification(s) in provider-specific modules (e.g., Ambulatory, Inpatient).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Majority of time involves sitting or standing; occasional walking, bending, and stooping. Long periods of computer time or at workstation. Light work that may include lifting or moving objects up to 20 pounds with or without assistance. May be exposed to inside environments with varied temperatures, air quality, lighting and/or low to moderate noise. Communicating with others to exchange information. Visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform tasks. Workspace may vary from open to confined. May require travel to various facilities within and beyond county perimeter; may require use of personal vehicle. Benefits
