Job Description The Training and Instructional Design Specialist will develop scalable LMS-based training programs that support onboarding, operational execution, leadership development, and organizational growth. This role is responsible for translating business processes and operational priorities into clear, engaging, and practical learning experiences while leveraging AI-powered tools and learning technology to improve speed, consistency, scalability, and overall training effectiveness across stores and corporate teams. Responsibilities Training Design & LMS Development Design and develop LMS courses and digital learning content supporting onboarding, operational execution, leadership development, and compliance training Translate operational processes and business priorities into clear, simple, and actionable learning experiences Create training materials including e-learning modules, job aids, process guides, videos, facilitator materials, and microlearning content Ensure learning content maintains consistency in standards, structure, and brand alignment Build learning experiences that are practical, intuitive, and support strong execution in stores and corporate teams AI & Learning Technology Utilize AI tools to improve instructional design workflows, content development, editing, assessments, and course updates Leverage technology to accelerate content creation and improve scalability across the organization Identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks and streamline content management processes Support optimization of learning systems and digital tools to improve the learner experience Stay current on emerging AI and learning technologies and recommend improvements where appropriate Learning Operations & Execution Manage learning projects from intake through launch, ensuring timely and accurate execution Maintain and organize content within the Learning Management System (LMS) Support training initiatives tied to new store openings, operational rollouts, leadership programs, and organizational changes Work with business leaders and subject matter experts to validate training content and ensure operational relevance Utilize feedback and business insights to continuously improve training effectiveness Field & Corporate Support Support standardization of onboarding and training processes across stores and corporate teams Create tools and resources that help leaders reinforce training and operational execution Ensure training materials are accessible, organized, and easy to implement Support a culture of continuous learning and operational excellence Skills and Knowledge Ability to communicate complex information in a clear, practical manner, Comfortable utilizing AI tools, LMS platforms, and other digital learning systems, Results-driven mindset with a focus on accuracy, consistency, and quality execution, Strong planning, organization, and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, Understanding of how training and learning initiatives support operational execution and business performance, Willingness to learn and adapt to new systems and technologies Qualifications 3-5 years of experience in instructional design, training, learning & development, or related fields Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Organizational Development, Communications, HR, or related field preferred Experience creating LMS-based learning content and digital training materials required Experience utilizing AI tools for content development, workflow improvement, or learning innovation strongly preferred Experience with LMS platforms, e-learning authoring tools, and digital learning systems Strong writing, communication, organization, and project management skills Experience supporting retail, hospitality, or multi-unit environments preferred Physical Requirements Ability to operate a computer, keyboard, mouse, and other standard office equipment Able to clearly view and read information on a computer screen Occasionally lift or move items up to 15 pounds Location On-site in Lenexa, KS Pay Range $65,000.00 - $80,000.00
