This role ensures that equipment and curriculum needs are prepared and available and serves as an instructor for courses.
Job Duties:
Prepare and review curriculum for courses including Resource One or equivalent assignments. Coordinate with the Fire Academy Coordinator and the other Fire Academy of Training Specialists to instruct, evaluate, and create training schedules for students. Ensure that equipment is serviced and is operational for each course. Work with the Fire Academy Coordinator to obtain new equipment and schedule service and maintenance for existing equipment and/or shared equipment. Work with the Fire Academy and Accredited Certification Coordinators to schedule courses for certification testing and ensure that all documents and equipment are available for certification courses including travel and transporting equipment when needed. Collaborate with the Director of Training, Region One and Two Coordinators, the Fire Academy of Kentucky Coordinator, Academic Coordinator for Curriculum and Fire Science Training and/or District Training Coordinators to assess training needs and scheduling. Assist with facilities and grounds maintenance. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED 3 years related experience IFSAC Accredited Certification Firefighter I & II Fire Instructor I Live Fire Instructor or equivalent EMT or Paramedic.
Preferred Qualifications:
IFSAC Accredited Certification (or equivalent) Driver Operator Pumper Driver Operator Aerial Mobile Water Supply Fire Instructor II Fire Officer I, II, III and IV Live Fire Instructor in
Charge CDL Additional Skills Requested:
Ability to wear a self-contained breathing apparatus and full firefighting personal protective equipment weighing 100 lbs. Lifting 50 lbs. or more at times is expected.
