Bring your passion for excellence to our table. The Production Trainer II plays a key role in ensuring the success of the production team through training and development. This position is responsible for delivering effective training to enhance the skills and knowledge of the production team. The Production Trainer is experienced in production knowledge, training, and has a strong commitment to quality and continuous improvement. Reporting directly to the Manufacturing Manager, this position is based in Shreveport, LA•. This position is open to candidates who are authorized to work and reside in the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin or Wyoming. Due to payroll, tax, and employment law requirements, applicants must be located in one of these states at time of hire.
Duties & Responsibilities:
People Work closely with manufacturing managers and training teams to identify training needs and opportunities for improvement in production processes. Partner with Production Supervisors, Managers, Quality, and HR to identify skill gaps and training needs. Safety Ability to properly wear PPE. Promote safety and JSA compliance in all aspects of production including but not limited to quality standards and manufacturing best practices. Quality Document all training by using the assessment sheet and skills matrix. Maintain training documentation, certifications, and training records. Maintain Production playbook. Stay updated on industry trends, new equipment, and production techniques, and incorporate them into the training programs. Evaluate and document employee competency through assessments, observation, and performance metrics. Delivery Develop and maintain training programs for new and current production team members, including onboarding programs, job-specific training, and continuous improvement training. Conduct classroom training and hands-on instruction for new hires covering essential manufacturing principles. Conduct training sessions for production team members on processes, procedures, and equipment operations to ensure a safe and efficient work environment. Support continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing efforts.
Education & Experience:
3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. 2 years of training experience preferred 2 years of training development preferred. Parts assembly or metal fabrication preferred.
Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge and use of production tools. The knowledge and skills to train on JSAs, Shop Packets, AS400, and entry level workstations. Knowledge and intermediate use of MS Suite- MS Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, and Excel. Lean Manufacturing experience, preferred. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and training evaluation methods.
Working Conditions:
Standing for long periods of time. Must be able to lift 10 to 50 lbs. Factory setting- climate controlled. Mix of classroom/training workstations, office, and production floor. Ability to work mandatory overtime, flexible hours, and/or overtime on short notice. Flexibility to work at all site locations.
