Maryland is currently hiring for a full-time Training Specialist in our office located in Millersville, MD. Mary T. Maryland provides residential group home and day program services to individuals with disabilities, focusing services with individuals with a diagnosis of traumatic brain injury (TBI). The Training Specialist will oversee all training functions for all employees in our Maryland office, including new employee Orientation, CPR/First Aid, MANDT, and more. They will maintain and continuously work to improve our training delivery and support system to meet the needs of our organization. The ideal candidate will have subject matter expertise and experience, and will be comfortable training and teaching both small and large groups. Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills will be essential for success in this role.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC JOB DUTIES
Builds and manages the Training Calendar to meet the fundamental training needs of Mary T. Maryland service areas and employees. Delivers fundamental training such as New Employee Orientation, CPR/First Aid, Choking and Nutrition, and MANDT training that are person-centered and flexibly scheduled. Develops new education to advance business needs and to support an environment of continuous quality improvement. Provides training which reflects and supports a person-centered work and service environment. Coordinates equipment, materials and venues that support a positive and well-organized learning environment. Coordinates Mary T. Incorporated client/employee activities that continuously improve and inspire dignity and person-centeredness. Ensures effective interface with training records by ensuring delivery of training documentation in an effective and efficient manner per department or service area. Gather and input quality improvement data related to training and other areas as needed to improve training delivery and alignment of training topics with learner and business needs. Represents Mary T. Incorporated mission, vision and values; and continuous quality improvement efforts in positive and professional language and demeanor. All other duties as assigned
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree with at least two years of prior experience; OR High School Diploma or Associates Degree with at least 5 years of prior experience.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE
Certifications and/or licensures as required by the specific training topic (i.e. CPR/First Aid certification, behavioral intervention, Traumatic Brain Injury certification, etc.), or a willingness to obtain necessary certifications.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
Ability to teach subject matter in person-centered, multi-disciplinary formats Ability to teach a variety of subjects, including compliance-based and professional-skills-development-based topics Ability to teach in large venues and small classrooms Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent listening skills Excellent organizational skills Excellent time management skills Ability to manage training situations where there may be conflict or disagreement among the trainees Advanced computer skills, to include Google Suite and Microsoft Suite Experience managing a Learning Management System (LMS) Ability to travel to various locations to conduct training or assess training needs and ensure evening and weekend trainings
