Job Summary:
The Learning & Development Specialist will create, implement, and conduct engaging development programs for colleagues at HonorBridge by working collaboratively with the Manager of Learning & Development, department leaders, and the People & Culture Team. This person maintains operational excellence through the scheduling, tracking, and measurement of training opportunities. They will plan, execute, and customize timely onboarding and learning and development solutions to accelerate staff and team development. Incumbent may need to facilitate training opportunities during a non-traditional work hour to accommodate staff on mid-night shifts..

Learning & Development Assesses training and development needs with department leadership through surveys, interviews, focus groups, and communication with managers, preceptors and clinical educators. Creates, organizes, plans, and facilitates Day 1 orientation and other skills training for employees. Supports Clinical Educators with department specific onboarding to ensure a seamless experience for the new hire transitioning into the department. Develops training and development programs, including, but not limited to, leadership development and soft skills. Creates and curates training materials, including, but not limited to, manuals, guides, and eLearning courses. Instructional design and delivery of development programs through the ADDIE model (or similar) and varying approaches, such as blended, eLearning, and instructor led. Tracks, measures, and maintains outcomes of learning activities, training modules, and assessments to ensure all records are up to date. In partnership with Leadership and Clinical Educators, ensures knowledge of and helps develop and distribute changes in policies, procedures, regulations, and business initiatives. Evaluates program effectiveness through assessments, surveys, and feedback. Researches and evaluates best practices and trends in training and development. Maintains operational oversight of training schedules, record management, and upload of regulatory training documents to document control platform (IdeaGen). Serves as key user of the Learning Management System (LMS) to create, distribute, and track training for staff. Partners with Manager of Learning & Develop to manage training budget, invoices, and expense reports. Collaborates with the Manager of Learning & Development and Quality and Regulatory Affairs department to address specific training needs, as identified on performance appraisals, occurrence and organizational audits, including hospital feedback, UNOS, AOPO, and CMS. Performs other related duties as required.
What you will bring:
A Bachelors Degree in relevant field OR experience in lieu of education will be considered. A minimum of 2 years experience in learning and development. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Knowledge of adult learning principles. Willingness and ability to learn a variety of training and design platforms, including, but not limited to, LMS, Articulate360, Camtasia, and Canva. Service-oriented and collaborative approach with proactive management of expectations and ability to problem solve based on learner needs. Proven ability to take ownership, manage, and prioritize workload and meet deadlines and expectations independently. Experience using Microsoft Office 365, including, but not limited to, Excel, Word, SharePoint, Teams, and PowerPoint.
Work Availability:
Ability to travel within local area and to other HonorBridge offices in North Carolina 10-20%. Ability to work in the Chapel Hill office a minimum of two days a week, dependent on the needs of departments. Ability to work a flexible schedule on a routine basis to accommodate needs of remote, split-shift departments. Ability to work in an office or clinical settings, as needed. What's in it for you?
