Full-time Position Summary:
This position is responsible for providing additional training to Direct Care Support staff within each of our programs. The Field Trainer will be following Direct Care staff from New Hire Orientation to the program location where they will teach and observe staff completing tasks such as wheelchair tie down, lift and transfer, food preparation, orientation and mobility, etc. In addition to training new staff, the Field Trainer will also be responsible for providing retraining, and identifying training needs. This position will have a variable schedule to accommodate staff on the evening and weekend shifts. (Sun - Thurs or Tues - Sat).
Responsibilities:
Create and implement a schedule following new hires from office new hire orientation into program level orientation. Train staff in all topics related to the field of IDD services, company policy & procedure, quality service delivery, etc. Model best practices in person-centered supports, health and safety, and community inclusion Attend monthly staff meetings to deliver training material for refreshers or ongoing trends. Ensure all required training documentation is completed accurately and submitted within required timeframes Identify performance gaps and collaborate with leadership to develop corrective action plans
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, Education, or related field Three (3) years minimum experience in training/delivering of training material, or organizational development of staff Must be able to organize training files and databases of all employees and to ensure compliance of the training program for all employees Computer skills include Microsoft Office including, Word, Excel, and Power Point Ability to read, write and speak English Effective written and verbal communication skills Driver's license valid in New Jersey Medical clearance documentation
