This role involves developing comprehensive curriculum, delivering engaging classroom and hands-on instruction, and ensuring all forklift operators are equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to operate equipment safely across various industries such as manufacturing, construction, automotive repair, HVAC, and aircraft maintenance. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, teaching expertise, and a passion for promoting safety excellence in diverse work environments. Responsibilities Develop and update OSHA-compliant forklift training curriculum tailored to different industry needs, including manufacturing, construction, automotive diagnostics, HVAC/R systems, plumbing, welding, electrical work, and aircraft maintenance Deliver engaging classroom instruction combined with practical hands-on training to ensure learners understand safe forklift operation procedures Assess trainee competency through evaluations and practical demonstrations to certify operators according to OSHA standards Maintain accurate records of training sessions, certifications issued, and trainee progress in compliance with regulatory requirements Collaborate with employers to customize training programs that address specific workplace hazards and operational procedures Stay current on OSHA regulations, industry best practices, and emerging safety technologies related to forklift operation and industrial safety Promote a culture of safety awareness by conducting refresher courses and ongoing education for certified operators Requirements Proven experience in teaching or training adult learners within industrial or technical settings such as manufacturing, construction, or automotive repair Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in areas like programmable logic controllers (PLCs), automotive diagnostics, HVAC systems (including HVAC/R), plumbing, welding, electrical systems, and maintenance practices In-depth understanding of OSHA regulations related to forklift operation and workplace safety standards Ability to develop effective curriculum using instructional design principles and educational tools like Blackboard or similar learning management systems Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences Classroom experience delivering technical or safety training programs is highly preferred Knowledge of industry-specific equipment such as forklifts, air conditioning units, aircraft maintenance tools or electrical systems is advantageous Certification as an OSHA Forklift Instructor or equivalent trainer certification is required; prior experience in curriculum development is a plus Join us as an OSHA Forklift Instructor where your expertise will empower workers across multiple industries to operate safely and confidently.
