Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Working in the Center for Learning & Professional Development (CLPD) this position performs as a valuable team member in CLPD. The position is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the learning management system (LMS) to include producing and publishing the CLPD training calendar, analyzing key metrics and data for the learning and development programs offered by and through the CLPD, and troubleshooting issues with the LMS as needed. The position provides data informed recommendations for current and future learning and development opportunities through a data informed lens. The position monitors and updates the CLPD Website. The University Training Specialist Senior focuses on instructional design of e-learning curriculum and serves as a facilitator for live, virtual, and in-person workshops. Instructional design duties will include creating new online learning items and converting existing live training content to e-learning content, including the development of microlearning online courses. Under the direction of Learning and Development leadership, the Training Specialist develops curriculum, facilitates live virtual and in-person workshops, tracks training completions, runs reports, and plans and coordinates professional development events from start to finish. The incumbent will work closely with the other CLPD team members to meet the unit's goals and objectives with direction from the leadership of Learning and Development to provide professional and excellent service to the NMSU community. The Training Specialist may also work closely with college and departmental leaders and other stakeholders to deliver timely, informational, and engaging training and professional development opportunities for all faculty and staff. The incumbent values inclusiveness and builds and nurtures relationships to create inclusive and collaborative partnerships with all levels of the institution to foster a learning culture and community for all faculty and staff.
Qualifications Required Education and Experience:
Associate's Degree + 4 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree + 2 years of relevant experience.

Certificate or certification in Learning and Development, Curriculum Development, Instructional Design, Human Resources, or specific curriculum for adult education. Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Education, or related field.

Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
Physical Effort:
Light physical effort. Effort applies to no more than two (2) hours per day.
