Job Description

Description The Knowledge & Development Instructor I delivers engaging training that enhances employee knowledge, supports operational excellence, and promotes outstanding member service across the credit union. This role designs and facilitates learning experiences, supports new hire onboarding, maintains compliance aligned content, and partners with operational leaders to identify skill gaps and implement effective training solutions. Location:
Santa Fe, NM Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Facilitate instructor-led and virtual training sessions for employees at all levels. Lead structured new-hire onboarding and support their transition to operational roles. Develop and update training materials including presentations, guides, and e-learning modules. Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure content accuracy and regulatory compliance. Evaluate training effectiveness using assessments, surveys, and performance data. Maintain training records and track learner progress. Partner with managers to identify training needs and skill development opportunities. Support implementation of new products, systems, and processes through timely training. Provide coaching and follow-up reinforcement to employees as needed. Stay current on credit union operations, regulatory updates, and industry best practices.

  • Level 3 Salary Level I starting pay: $16.13
  • $20.17 per hour Level II starting pay: $17.81
  • $22.27 per hour New hires are typically brought in between the range minimum and maximum based on qualifications, internal equity, and budget. Benefits Medical, Dental and Vision insurance. Available the first of the month following date of hire. 401(k)

Requirements Experience:
Level I
  • One year to three years of similar or related experience in training or employee development. Experience working in a financial institution preferred. Level II
  • Three years to five years of similar or related experience in training or employee development.
Experience in financial services desired.
Education:
Level I
  • A high school education or GED. Level II
  • (1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.
Interpersonal Skills:
Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is of a personal or sensitive nature. Motivating, influencing, and/or training others is key at this level. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.

Physical Requirements:
This role requires the ability to conduct training sessions for extended periods, which may include standing, sitting, or moving around a classroom or virtual environment. The instructor must be able to use standard office and presentation equipment, operate a computer for prolonged periods, and handle occasional lifting or transport of training materials or equipment weighing up to 20 pounds.
Work Environment:
The position is primarily based in a professional office or training setting, with frequent interaction across departments and occasional travel to branches or operational sites. Work involves managing multiple training sessions, adapting to shifting priorities, and supporting both in 'person and virtual learning environments. Training schedules may occasionally require flexibility to accommodate early 'morning or late' day sessions.
