The Project Safety Trainer will be accountable for the delivery of training programs and material in a Construction environment. Will preferably have worked in remote locations and requires a valid driver's license as Training related activities may be conducted in multiple locations on the project.
Major Responsibilities:
Collaborating with ES&H and Construction groups on the developing, revising and implementing craft training. Coordination of skills verification, apprentice mentoring, identification and rectification of skill gaps. Supervises project trainers and/or Craft evaluator(s). Provides guidance to Craft Trainers and Evaluators for training to all levels of Craft including Foreperson and General Foreperson. Oversees capability assessments of direct hire Craft. Responsible for project training facility layout, resource allocation, set-up and maintenance. May participate in the selection of evaluators/trainers. Coordinates and monitors classes, instructors, facilities, class times, participants (level) and instructor evaluations on each project. Collects, assembles, and analyzes training data and provides reports to site and Labor Relations management regarding the projects training activities. Other duties as assigned within personal capability.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires a Bachelor's (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Requires OSHA 30 certification. Previous experience in developing core training curriculum for Construction or related industry employees. Previous 'hands-on' experience in the effective delivery of industry safety training and orientation programs. Ability to effectively develop the skills of a junior training facilitator and ES&H representatives to deliver necessary training modules. Previous construction trades experience considered advantageous. A current US driver's license due to the potential for the successful candidate to be delivering training instruction at multiple locations.
