Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable Diesel Technology Instructor to inspire and educate students in the field of diesel engine repair and maintenance. This role involves delivering engaging classroom instruction, developing comprehensive curricula, and mentoring students to become skilled technicians. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for teaching, a strong background in diesel systems, and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into accessible learning experiences. Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement a standards-aligned curriculum based on CIP Code 47.0613. Teach advanced Diesel Technology such as Small and large engines Steering and suspension Brakes, hydraulic and air Electrical work Safety and inspections Prepare students for industry-recognized certifications Integrate hands-on activities and project-based learning. Maintain an up-to-date, safe, and engaging learning environment. Collaborate with industry partners, postsecondary institutions, and colleagues to ensure program relevance. Participate in school and district professional development and CTE advisory committee meetings. Maintain student records, track competencies, and evaluate performance. Provide career guidance and mentorship to students.
Preferred Requirements and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Information in Diesel Technology in a related field. Valid state teaching certification in CTE or willingness to obtain one (alternative certification pathways may be available). Industry experience in Diesel Technology field Ability to pass a background check and meet all ACTI employment requirements. Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards during all instructional activities and maintain a safe learning environment Collaborate with industry partners to keep curriculum relevant and facilitate student internships or work-based learning experiences Experience teaching high school or adult learners Familiarity with CTE frameworks, Perkins V requirements, or CIP code alignment.
