POSITION OVERVIEW
General Mills is looking for an individual to join the learning and development team at the Cedar Rapids Plant. In this role you will partner with key plant stakeholders to develop, maintain, and improve current learning strategies and programs using various tools, technologies, and processes that enable learning. Our Cedar Rapids, Iowa site makes food people love in the Cereal, Snacks and Baking businesses and is located in eastern Iowa. Cedar Rapids is a critical, strategic site, manufacturing products that represent 11% of all global revenues for General Mills. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Drive Business Performance:
Implement and support L&D and Zero Loss culture startegies by leveraging learning technologies, data, analytics, and digital tools to achieve business performance goals. Optimize the
Learning Ecosystem:
Execute quarterly goals of the site learning and development strategy.
Administer and Innovate Learning Technologies:
Implement and manage learning technologies and programs to enable effective learning experiences.
Champion Digital Learning Fluency:
Provide coaching and mentorship on modern, effective learning techniques, focusing on the use of digital tools and technologies. Foster a
Learning Community:
Foster and support the plant L&D community through the development of trainers, facilitating best practice sharing, etc.
Enhance Onboarding Experience:
Partner with the Human Resources team during the onboarding process to ensure seamless integration into the company.
Lead Content Development:
Collaborate with subject matter experts (e.g., black hats) to support content development processes in conjunction with adult learning principles (e.g., ADDIE, SAM, etc.).
Develop and Manage Learning Materials:
Develop, update, and sustain training material and aids (e.g., JTA's, training manuals, OPL's, technology platforms, etc.). Leverage Feedback to
Create Actionable Items:
Provide feedback to training program participants (e.g., trainers, trainees) and management (e.g., TLs, Training Manager). Partner with
Operations:
Support the business unit by attending and contributing to production meetings, project meetings, team meeting, and other meetings as appropriate. Build Capability Across the
Organization:
Collaborate with the L&D team to develop and drive capability building processes used throughout the plant. Proactively Identify Skill Gaps with
Data:
Partner with the appropriate stakeholders to identify and address learning gaps. Utilize Data to
Inform and Drive Learning Strategy:
Partner with stakeholders to address and schedule learning needs. Report on Learning Impact through
Analytics:
Track and report on training progress & outcomes (e.g., check-ins, qualification charts).
Govern Learning Content:
Maintain and manage records in accordance with applicable company, state, and federal regulations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
2+ years of experience in developing capabilities in others High School Diploma High attention to detail, accuracy, and organization Proficiency in the Microsoft 365 Suite Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to assess needs, influence, collaborate, deliver with cross-functional stakeholders Ability to work autonomously Strong verbal and written communication Desire to continuously learn and improve individual skills Ability to embrace and learn new technology
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree Knowledge of processing and packaging manufacturing processes Project management experience Strong results orientation Technical aptitude
