Job Description

Youth Development Specialist Judson Community Partnership (JCP) - Greenville, SC Do you love working with kids? Do you want a job that impacts lives? We're looking for someone energetic, organized, creative, and genuinely big-hearted to join our team! JCP is a nonprofit after-school and summer program serving elementary students in Greenville, SC. Our students receive academic support, mentorship, meals, fitness classes, art therapy, mental health counseling, and a safe place to grow and belong. This isn't just an after school program. This is relationship-based work that can truly change lives. What the Job Actually Feels Like One moment you might be helping a student with homework. The next, you're leading a game, encouraging a struggling child, organizing a family night, mentoring college aged interns, or helping create a space where kids feel safe and loved. No two days look exactly the same and that's part of what makes this role so special. We're a small nonprofit, which means we all jump in wherever needed. We're looking for someone who is proactive, flexible, emotionally intelligent, and excited to build deep relationships with students and families. What You'll Do Lead and mentor a classroom of elementary students during after-school and summer programming Build strong relationships with students and families Help facilitate fun, engaging, and meaningful daily activities Support students academically, emotionally, and socially Coordinate with interns, volunteers, and community partners Help organize family nights, events, and special activities Keep programs and spaces organized behind the scenes Collaborate closely with our leadership team and Youth Development Coordinator to improve and grow programs Schedule & Flexibility One of the best parts of this role is the schedule. During the School Year With students Monday-Thursday from 1:30 PM - 5:30 PM Additional weekly meetings with Executive Director (1 hour) Two school visits a week- one during school lunch, the other around your schedule. Summer Schedule Mornings generally 8:30am-12:30pm Monday-Thursday Month of June only 48 hour weekend sleep away camp in Charleston to kick off summer! Time Off This role includes extensive built-in paid breaks aligned with the school calendar: Thanksgiving Break Christmas Break Spring Break Multiple weeks off in May and July School holidays + teacher workdays 3 additional PTO days The schedule includes a lot of flexibility and time off, but the caveat is that when it's time to work, there is very little ability to miss. This position is ideal for someone who values meaningful work and sustainable rhythms of life. Compensation $30,000-$40,000/year depending on experience Full-time salaried pay with part time hours. Approximately 20 direct program hours weekly, plus planning/events/meetings on occasion. JCP is a small organization and does not provide health insurance, instead a stipend for market place health insurance can be written into your salary.
