HRBP / Operations Manager Position Summary The Technical Trainer is responsible for designing, delivering, and sustaining training programs that equip team members with the skills, knowledge, and behaviors needed to perform safely, efficiently, and in alignment with Hounen Solar's Core Values. This role is instrumental in building a high-performance culture by supporting new hire onboarding, technical skill development, leadership readiness, and continuous improvement across the plant. Success in this role requires a proactive, flexible approach and the ability to adapt to a dynamic, fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities 1. Training Delivery & Facilitation Conduct new hire onboarding and orientation programs Deliver technical, safety, and process training for production roles Facilitate hands-on training on equipment, tools, and SOPs Lead sessions on Core Values, Attitude Expectations, and workplace behaviors Ensure training is engaging, structured, and measurable 2. Program Development Design and implement structured programs such as: Equipment Technician Development Program Team Leader/Supervisor readiness training Create training materials: Presentations SOP-based modules Visual job aids Digital monitor content Align training with business needs, performance gaps, and company strategy 3. Performance & Skills Assessment Evaluate trainee performance using: Skill assessments Observation checklists Weighted scoring rubrics Provide feedback to employees and leadership Identify high-potential employees for development programs 4.
Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with:
HR (onboarding, engagement, retention) EHS (safety training & compliance) Operations & Quality (process and productivity training) Support communication between English-speaking and Chinese-speaking teams Help standardize training across departments 5. Training Administration & Tracking Maintain accurate training records and documentation Track completion, effectiveness, and skill progression Support audits and compliance requirements Utilize systems (Excel, LMS, or internal tracking tools) 6. Continuous Improvement Analyze training effectiveness and adjust programs accordingly Gather feedback from trainees and leadership Identify gaps in skills, knowledge, and behaviors Recommend improvements to processes, training, and onboarding Core Competencies Attitude First Mindset Strong communication and facilitation skills Ability to influence without authority High accountability and follow-through Adaptability in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Cultural awareness and ability to work in bilingual environments Work Schedule & Flexibility Requirements This position is primarily scheduled to work Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM•5:00 PM. However, due to the nature of a 24/7 manufacturing operation, the Technical Trainer must demonstrate a high level of flexibility to support training needs across all shifts.
This includes:
Providing training support for rotating day and night shifts (7:30 AM•7:30 PM and 7:30 PM•7:30 AM) Adjusting schedule as needed to support onboarding, critical training initiatives, and new program rollouts Periodically working early mornings, evenings, or overnight hours to ensure consistent training across all teams Ensuring equitable training access for employees working weekends and non-traditional schedules Schedule adjustments will be planned in advance whenever possible to support both business needs and work-life balance.
Technical Skills & Experience Required:
Experience in manufacturing or industrial environment Experience delivering training or coaching employees Strong understanding of SOPs, safety, and production processes Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
Preferred:
Experience with solar, automation, or technical equipment Bilingual (English/Chinese)•HUGE plus Experience building structured training programs Familiarity with LMS or training tracking systems Education High School Diploma or GED required Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred (HR, Training, Engineering, or related field) Please send resume to nicole.utsey@hounensolar.com
