GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB
Responsible for the supervision of non-clinical education to include the assessment of learning needs and the development, implementation, documentation and evaluation of orientation and talent development. Coordinates activities of non-clinical staff at DHS. Participates in the development of non-clinical policies, procedures and competencies. Participates in performance improvement activities; serves on special committees.

- Develops, directs and determines the effectiveness of DHS General Orientation, which includes maintaining relationships and communication with presenters, updating content when needed, and overall coordination of orientation events.
- Works with Human Resources regarding DHS General Orientation training for new hires.
- Develops, directs and determines the effectives of DHS employee development programs.
- Assists DHS departments with developing training programs based on the needs of the organization.
- Assists Training Coordinator with required annual regulatory training events.
- Travel frequently to DCH RGV and Satellite location to facilitate training programs as needed
- Assists with the coordination of annual regulatory events.
- Assesses learning needs of non-clinical and management staff using various methods.
- Studies current trends, new technology, new teaching methodologies through professional journals, seminars, conferences, professional societies.
- Demonstrates advanced knowledge in MS Office applications and can provide training on such applications.
- Organizes and develops training manuals, reference library, testing/evaluation procedures, visual aids and other educational materials.
- Demonstrates ability to operate equipment, projectors, audiovisual equipment, cameras, other equipment used in instruction and patient care.
- Develops, evaluates, reviews, revises and implements policies and procedures, goals and objectives in area of responsibility.
- Assists with the coordination of performance improvement activities.
- Assist with and implements special projects.
- Maintains training records and ensures documentation meets standards and regulations.
- Develops and coordinates conferences/seminars and programs; develops promotional materials and brochures.
- Serve as a non-clinical resource consultant.
- Participates in the maintenance of regulatory requirements, including all state, federal and JCAHO regulations related to the organization.
- Coordinates non-clinical training programs.
- Completes annual educational requirements.
- Maintains composure, effectiveness, and flexibility under pressure.
- Maintains utmost level of confidentiality at all times.
- Supports and carries out hospital policies and procedures.
- Demonstrates business practices and personal actions that are ethical and adhere to corporate compliance and integrity guidelines.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university or one to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Three (3) years' experience in adult education / training preferred
