Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Instructor Trainer for an on-site contract in
AustinTX Responsibilities:
The Instructor Trainer is responsible for designing, developing, delivering, and evaluating technical training programs across multiple formats including instructor-led, web-based, and multimedia learning. This role leads the development of course materials, eLearning modules, and supplementary technical documentation for both COTS products and in-house IT solutions. The trainer plans and facilitates classroom instruction, electronic learning, simulations, conferences, and workshops, while managing the overall training program in accordance with business needs, regulatory requirements, and quality management standards. Additional duties include translating complex technical information into clear materials for technical and non-technical audiences, conducting test analysis, analyzing training needs, and staying current with developments in the training and eLearning field. Responsible for preparing, conducting, and evaluating technical training programs.0 Writes literature and materials to be used in programs and designs exercises to enhance lectures. Delivers on-site and web-based training courses covering software solutions. Leads development of infrastructure for information delivery, as well as writing and maintenance of training material and supplementary technical documentation. Creates instructor materials including course outlines, background material, instructional materials, and training aids for COTS Products and current IT-driven in-house solutions, as well as desktop support processes such as Remote Access Systems. Assists with formatting training materials created by other staff. Determines needs and develops plans to meet customer requirements. Plans, directs, and delivers classroom training, electronic learning, multimedia programs, computer-aided instructional technologies, simulators, conferences, and workshops. Manages the training program in accordance with business needs, regulatory requirements, and Quality Management System. Researches and recommends vendors and costs for various training methods. Stays current with developments in computer training, especially alternative media and methods for instruction. Teaches short technical courses in accordance with approved curriculum to maintain proficiency and to evaluate and develop new instructional techniques. Gathers, analyzes, translates, and composes technical information into clear, readable materials for technical and non-technical personnel. Collects data and analyzes audiences and training needs based on new business processes and policies. Has a basic understanding of EIR Accessibility and assistive technologies used by people with disabilities. Understands protocols for communicating with customers requiring special assistance.
Minimum Qualifications:
8+ years of experience designing, developing, and implementing training curricula, including web-based and instructor-led courses, job aids, and videos 5+ years of experience conducting classes on standard operating procedures covering software solutions, IT security, IT system installation, software programming, system maintenance and repair, operational support best practices, and equipment Experience with web-based learning management systems (LMS) and eLearning authoring tools Expert knowledge of MS Office Suite 2010 or later (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) High degree of aptitude and flexibility to deliver training across a wide variety of software products
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience delivering technical training in cloud-based technology environments Previous experience working in a government or regulated enterprise environment Knowledge of EIR accessibility standards and assistive technologies for individuals with disabilities Certification in instructional design (e.g., ATD
CPTD, CPLP
) or a related credential
