Generally Monday-Thursday:
8:00 AM to 6:00
PM Friday:
8:00 AM to 12:00 PM Nights and weekends as needed. Trainer schedules will vary and may be include teaching evening, weekend, online, hybrid, and/or dual enrollment courses at various campuses. This is an on-site position. Essential duties of the role must be performed in-person, during prescribed work hours. Position Summary & Essential Duties The following duties and responsibilities, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's), and physical requirements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. The Industrial Trainer - Refrigerated Logistics and HVAC Systems Trainer is responsible for delivering high-quality classroom and hands-on instruction in refrigeration systems and HVAC technologies as applied to transportation and logistics environments. This position ensures that students acquire the technical knowledge, diagnostic skills, and safety competencies required to install, maintain, and repair refrigerated transport systems and related equipment. Qualifications (Required and Preferred) Minimum Qualifications HVAC certification or equivalent industry-recognized credential Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in HVAC, refrigeration, or related field Demonstrated experience working with mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration systems Preferred Qualifications Two-year Associate's degree Experience with transport refrigeration systems (reefers) Prior teaching, training, or instructional experience Experience working with adult learners in workforce or technical training environments Industry certifications (e.g., EPA Section 608 or equivalent) Job Duties and Responsibilities Instruction & Training Delivery Deliver classroom and hands-on instruction in refrigeration systems, HVAC technologies, and transport refrigeration applications. Prepare students for industry-recognized certifications and employment in refrigerated logistics and HVAC-related fields. Ensure safe operation and proper use of tools, equipment, and training systems. Maintain training schedules, lesson plans, and instructional materials. Student Support & Success Provide individualized instruction and technical coaching to support student success. Monitor student progress and provide feedback and remediation as needed. Support student retention and completion efforts. Reinforce workplace expectations, safety practices, and professionalism. Program Collaboration Collaborate with program leadership and employer partners to align training with workforce and industry needs. Participate in curriculum development, updates, and continuous improvement efforts. Support integration of HVAC and refrigerated logistics training within the Driving Forward program. Assist with recruitment and outreach activities as needed. Compliance & Safety Ensure compliance with all safety, regulatory, and institutional policies. Maintain accurate student records, training documentation, and certification tracking. Promote a safe learning environment consistent with industry standards.

Knowledge:
Knowledge of safety standards and best practices in industrial and technical environments. Knowledge of refrigeration systems, HVAC technologies, and transport cooling systems.

Abilities:
Ability to deliver hands-on, technical training effectively. Ability to work with diverse student populations. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Student competency and skill attainment. Student completion rates. Successful attainment of industry certifications (where applicable). Compliance with safety and instructional standards. Working Conditions Work is performed in classroom and lab/training environments. Exposure to mechanical equipment, tools, and varying environmental conditions. Physical Requirements Ability to lift tools and equipment. Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical demonstrations for extended periods. Ability to work in lab and industrial training environments.
