Job Description

Full-Time and Permanent; 7.5 Hours/Day; 240 Days/Year; 12 Months/Year Minimum Qualifications Must possess a Master's Degree Eligible for, or in possession of, appropriate Virginia Teaching License with preschool endorsement In possession of or willing to work toward
CLASS-PK
Certification within the first year of employment At least four years of successful classroom experience as a teacher in an early learning setting Experience with providing individual coaching and group professional development Leadership ability (i.e. organizational, managerial, and administrative skills) Personal characteristics conducive to working effectively with students, teachers, school personnel, community groups, and parents Experience and skill in using technology Nature of Position Provide regular, individualized coaching support to pre-K teachers and paraprofessionals on the quality of their interactions with their students as evidenced by

observations and feedback Prepare all necessary materials for consultation sessions following pre-defined protocols Observe assigned PK classes twice a year (or as per VDOE requirement) using the
CLASS-PK
observation tool Assist teacher with development and implementation of required professional development plans Conduct professional development sessions throughout the year as assigned Actively participate in division-level team meetings Maintain logs of classroom visits and notes of coaching sessions Meet with school administration as needed or requested Maintains professional competence by attending staff development programs, curriculum development meetings, and other professional activities Performs any other related duties as assigned by the department administrator
NOTE:
This position is for one year only and contingent upon Title I funding.
