  • Full-time Position Overview ABC of Wisconsin is seeking a highly skilled licensed trade professional to serve as an Instructor for our apprenticeship training programs in Electrical.
This position plays a key role in delivering high-quality instruction that prepares apprentices for successful careers in the skilled trades. The Instructor will provide classroom and hands-on lab instruction within their licensed trade, helping apprentices develop the technical knowledge, practical skills, and professional competencies needed to succeed in the commercial construction industry. The ideal candidate is an experienced industry professional who is passionate about workforce development and committed to supporting the next generation of skilled tradespeople. Essential Responsibilities Instruction & Student Development Deliver classroom and hands-on lab instruction to registered apprentices within your licensed trade (Electrical). Demonstrated knowledge of the code specific to trade and ability to teach current code requirements and updates Proficient in navigating and utilizing training manuals as well as manufacturers technical installation and service manual Teach trade theory, code requirements, safety practices, and industry best practices. Utilize varied instructional strategies to support diverse adult learning styles. Assess student performance through testing, practical evaluations, and assignments. Provide feedback, mentorship, and support to help apprentices progress successfully through the program. Curriculum & Program Support Support curriculum implementation and continuous improvement efforts aligned with current industry standards. Ensure instruction reflects modern commercial construction practices and applicable codes. Maintain accurate training records, attendance, and evaluation documentation. Assist in preparing instructional materials and maintaining training resources. Learning Environment & Safety Foster a safe, inclusive, and professional learning environment. Maintain lab/shop safety standards and ensure apprentices follow proper safety protocols. Assist with maintaining training equipment, tools, and lab materials. Industry Engagement Participate in advisory committees, training events, and industry engagement opportunities and ABC events as needed. Support efforts to promote apprenticeship training and workforce development within the skilled trades community. Required Qualifications Current State of Wisconsin Master Electrical License 5-7 years of commercial or industrial experience in the licensed trade. 2-5 years of instructional or training experience, or a strong interest in teaching and mentoring apprentices. Strong knowledge of industry standards, safety practices, and applicable trade codes. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with adult learners in apprenticeship or workforce development programs. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification. First Aid/CPR/AED certification. Key Competencies Understanding of adult learning principles and instructional techniques. Strong communication and presentation skills. Ability to mentor and motivate apprentices. Strong organizational and classroom management skills. Commitment to safety, professionalism, and industry excellence. Work Environment This position operates in both classroom and lab/shop environments and may involve exposure to varying shop conditions. Candidates must be able to lift 50+ pounds and demonstrate safe use of tools and training equipment.
