Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Development Professional to support the growth and well-being of children and adolescents in our community programs. This role involves creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment that promotes positive development through educational, recreational, and social activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in childhood education, behavior management, and experience working with diverse youth populations. This position is paid and offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young lives. Duties Plan, organize, and facilitate age-appropriate activities that foster social, emotional, and cognitive development. Manage classroom or group settings using effective classroom management techniques to ensure safety and engagement. Provide supervision during activities such as sports coaching, theater productions, camp events, or tutoring sessions. Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive conduct and conflict resolution among participants. Administer basic first aid when necessary and maintain safety protocols at all times. Support children with special needs or those requiring additional assistance through individualized approaches aligned with early childhood education principles. Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other staff to monitor progress and address individual needs. Lead or assist in organizing community events, educational workshops, or recreational outings that encourage personal growth. Maintain accurate records of attendance, participation, and developmental milestones for each child or youth served. Requirements Experience working with children in settings such as daycare, preschool, camp counseling, tutoring, or childcare programs. Knowledge of childhood development theories and behavior management techniques. Skills in classroom management and creating inclusive learning environments. Certifications such as First Aid and CPR are preferred; willingness to obtain if not already certified. Background in special education or experience working with children with special needs is a plus. Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members. Ability to handle multiple responsibilities in dynamic environments while maintaining patience and professionalism. Prior experience in sports coaching, theater arts, babysitting, Christian counseling, or similar roles is advantageous.
