We are seeking another knowledgeable and compassionate dog groomer to join our team. About us: We have been in operation for over 18 years and stay busy year-round. We continue to get new client inquiries daily but need YOU to accept them! Everyone here gets along well, helps each other, laughs a lot, and works as a team. MOST of our clients prefer pet cuts rather than show cuts, and we do these pet cuts extremely well as proven by our reviews. We have maintained a high quality of service all these years despite location and groomer changes and expect for that to continue. Quite a few of our groomers have gone on to own their own salons after working here, with our blessing and support.

Income:

Our pricing reflects the value of our appointment-only, cage-free approach, so you will likely make more here than at other salons. In addition to the commission, our clients are incredibly generous with tips. Full-time (4 days/week minimum) groomers gross between $2000 - $2500 bi-weekly before taxes.

Key Responsibilities:

Expertly perform the "basics": trim and file nails, clean and pluck ears, brush teeth, externally express glands, bathe, dry and brush dogs Cut and style dogs' fur to above average standards, using commonly accepted and safe grooming techniques and tools Assess dogs' health and behavior to ensure safe grooming practices Communicate professionally with pet owners regarding grooming needs and recommendations Make sure any necessary releases are completed prior to grooming Complete report cards and provide feedback to clients Maintain and sharpen your equipment to ensure the best cuts Participate as required in the cleaning and sanitizing of the salon Ability to accept and implement feedback provided by management Dedication to working as a team with your co-workers, helping and asking for help as needed, and sharing/receiving tips and feedback Keep detailed notes on a dog's cut, behavior and health so that the approach is seamless for other groomers who may take care of the dog after you Maintain a clean and hygienic grooming environment and personal appearance, and wear the required uniform

Requirements:

Experience as a dog groomer in a professional salon of at least two years. (Grooming at home or as a volunteer does not count.) Be able to demonstrate your knowledge of grooming techniques and tools. Openness to learning new skills, breed patterns, and techniques. Maintain a professional demeanor and excellent communication skills. (You should be able to communicate well with clients regarding their desired cut and requests, and make them feel comfortable leaving their dog in your care.) Adopt a service first mentality and go the extra mile to help our clients Handle dogs patiently, gently, and securely, with a "safety first" approach Exercise good attention to detail and time management skills Consistent timing to adhere to our appointment only schedule You must be comfortable refraining from smoking throughout the work day, including on breaks and at lunch. Must be able to pass a drug test and background check Must be someone of integrity who is trustworthy and reliable
