Job Description

Animal Care:
Job Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and hardworking individual to join our team as an Animal Shelter Attendant . Under limited supervision, this role involves overseeing the daily operations of our animal shelter to ensure humane care, high-quality living conditions, and successful adoption or reunification of animals. This is a hands-on position that requires a strong dedication to animal welfare and rescue work.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide humane and compassionate care for all shelter animals. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of dog and cat kennels. Administer medications and monitor health and safety. Coordinate and arrange veterinary care as needed.
Adoption and Reunification:
Facilitate the adoption and reunification process by acting in the best interest of the animals. Assist in finding permanent homes quickly by creating bios, conducting temperament tests, and photographing/filming animals. Provide training and socialization for shelter animals.
Facility Operations:
Greet and assist potential adopters, volunteers, and visitors. Walk dogs and engage in enrichment activities for both dogs and cats. Manage shelter admissions and ensure proper documentation. Occasionally transport animals as needed.
Additional Duties:
Work weekends and some holidays as required. Perform other tasks to support the shelter's mission.
Qualifications:
Experience handling dogs and cats of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail, self-motivation, and organizational skills. Availability on weekends and some holidays. A valid driver's license is required.
