Cat Lounge Attendant

If your resume does not show hands on experience working with cats either in a veterinary role or rescue/sheltering your application will be automatically denied. This position is at our new North Valley Location of PHX Cat Cafe. Training will be done at our downtown location.

Cat Lounge Staff Responsibilities:

CAT CARE

: Responsible for a variety of cat-related responsibilities from monitoring cat health, scooping litter boxes, feeding cats, introducing new cats to the lounge, socializing new cats, cleaning up accidents, administering medicine, clipping nails, inputting cat records, and resolving any other cat behavioral or health issues as they arise. When it comes to caring for our cats, we are looking for people who have previous experience working with cats and are open to learning more about cat behavior.

CUSTOMER SERVICE

One of the most important parts of this role is to ensure every customer has an amazing visit. Our cat lounge would not be possible if it was not for our customers. You are responsible for keeping the lounge fun, lively, and energetic by engaging with customers about the cats, the business, and everything in between! You will work as part of a team or by yourself to deliver an outstanding experience and consistently provide a friendly, welcoming, and super fun atmosphere.

CLEANING

Keeping the lounge organized, clean, and smelling great is one of our top priorities. We understand it is a cat business, but we do not want to hear our customers say it smells like 'cat' when they walk in. You are responsible for always keeping the store "first hour clean" by wiping down tables, throwing away trash, scooping litter boxes, sweeping floors, and mopping when necessary. Store presentation and condition is incredibly important, and we want to make sure the cafe is always clean, well put together, and smells amazing. Cleaning is a •huge• part of the job, so if you don't like cleaning, this is probably not the best fit for you. On occasion, there will be volunteers to help with these tasks and you ill be responsible for making sure they stay on task throughout their shift. Anything else? Must be 18+ Must have previous experience in a vet clinic or at a rescue working hands on with cats Position starts at $16/hr Position is part-time Ability to work weekends is required. The current shift needed is Thursday-Monday 2:15pm-6:30pm. You must be able to work this shift every weekend. There is potential for longer hours as the business grows and bets busier. Ability to work around all holidays required. We do close for Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day but days leading up to and after are some of our busiest days. Ability to lift at least 40lbs (bags of litter) and work on your feet the majority of your shift Must have reliable transportation Must have a cell phone with the ability to take photos of cats during shift Must have excellent communication skills Candidates familiar with fear free and low stress handling techniques preferred Candidates willing to commit to a volunteer shift on a day we are closed preferred
