Job Description

Summary At Central Bark, our team is responsible for providing exceptional care, safety, and enrichment for the dogs in our playgroups. We operate 365 days a year and provide care every day, including weekends and holidays. Team members are expected to participate in a rotating schedule that includes some weekends and holidays, with limited staffing during those times. This is an active, hands-on role where you'll spend most of your day interacting with dogs and supporting their well-being. Approximately 60% of your time will be spent supervising playgroups, engaging dogs in enrichment activities, and cleaning up after them both indoors and outdoors. About 20% of your time will involve feeding, crating, and bringing dogs to and from their owners, while the remaining 20% will focus on maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming facility. As you gain experience and demonstrate initiative, you'll have opportunities to take on additional responsibilities and advance within the company. Please refer to the Level Criteria documents for details on growth opportunities and expectations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide safe, attentive, and enriching care for dogs using the science-based behavior and handling techniques taught during training. Supervise playgroups while encouraging positive social interactions and promoting a safe play environment. Participate in enrichment activities, play sessions, brushing, petting, feeding, medicating, and other daily care tasks. Safely leash, collar, crate, and transport dogs throughout the facility. Monitor dog health and behavior and provide basic first aid when appropriate. Work closely with fellow team members and management to deliver outstanding daycare, sleepover, and Stay & Play services. Support our mission of providing Whole Dog Care and daily enrichment for every dog in our care. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing tasks such as cleaning up dog waste, sweeping, mopping, disinfecting, washing crates, bathing dogs, and general facility upkeep. Help ensure a positive experience for both dogs and their families through excellent communication and customer service. Accurately document important information about dogs in your care through shift reports, MoeGo, and other communication systems. Assist with facility operations and other duties as assigned. This position requires the ability to work on your feet for extended periods, work in both indoor and outdoor environments, and comfortably handle dogs of various sizes, breeds, and energy levels.
