Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Pet Groomer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a love for animals and a strong background in pet care, grooming, and handling. As a Pet Groomer, you will be responsible for providing high-quality grooming services to pets while ensuring their comfort and safety. Your expertise in animal handling and care will play a crucial role in maintaining the well-being of our furry clients. Responsibilities Perform grooming services including bathing, clipping, and styling pets according to breed standards and client preferences. Assess the condition of pets' coats and skin to recommend appropriate grooming treatments. Handle pets safely and effectively during grooming sessions, ensuring their comfort throughout the process. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the grooming area, including tools and equipment. Communicate with pet owners regarding their pets' needs, health concerns, and grooming options. Provide excellent customer service to build strong relationships with clients. Assist with animal restraint during grooming procedures as necessary. Stay updated on grooming trends, techniques, and best practices. Skills Proficient in pet grooming techniques with experience in dog handling. Knowledge of animal care practices including veterinary technician or assistant experience is a plus. Familiarity with dog training methods is beneficial for managing behavior during grooming sessions. Strong skills in animal restraint to ensure safety for both the groomer and the pet. Excellent customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners. Experience in kennel environments or as a pet sitter is advantageous. Ability to perform heavy lifting when handling larger breeds or equipment as needed. Join our team of animal lovers where your skills will make a difference in the lives of pets and their owners! This is a commission-based position (50% per groom, depending on experience). Tips are 100% yours. Average take-home is $1,000-$1,500+ per week for full-time groomers.
