About the Role As a Groomer at Big Woof, you'll deliver top-tier, individualized grooming services to a wide range of pups. We're looking for someone who brings professionalism, artistry, and heart to every groom. You'll work in a brand-new salon space with high-end equipment, a supportive team, and the opportunity to shape our grooming culture from day one. What You'll Do Provide full-service dog grooming including bath, blow-dry, brush out, haircut/styling, nail trim, ear cleaning, and external anal gland expression Offer add-on services like deshedding, mud treatments, and teeth brushing Create a calm, low-stress environment using Fear Free Grooming practices Manage your own client bookings, grooming prep, and notes using salon tools Communicate clearly with pet parents about style preferences, coat condition, and ongoing care Collaborate with fellow staff and help grow the grooming business with pride Keep the grooming area sanitary, stocked, and welcoming throughout the day Show curiosity and openness to Big Woof's broader mission around nutrition and pet wellness Requirements Minimum 1 year of professional grooming experience preferred Comfortable grooming dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments Ability to lift and support dogs over 50 lbs with team assistance Knowledge of common grooming techniques, coat types, and tools Must be Fear Free Grooming Certified (we'll provide certification/renewal) Confidence with nail clipping/grinding, ear cleaning, teeth brushing, and external gland expression Strong communication and customer service skills Willingness to learn and align with our holistic approach to pet wellness A can-do attitude and enthusiasm for building something special from the ground up Perks & Benefits Hourly pay at $28/hour Tips from clients (100% yours) Bonus opportunities based on monthly grooming revenue Health insurance after 30 days of employment Vacation and sick time (with accrual based on hours worked) Pet supplies and food at cost Branded apparel provided Business phone and tablet access for grooming coordination Parking Note Team members are asked to park off-site , per our lease agreement, to ensure customers have convenient access to Big Woof.
