Job Description

Receptionists at Dog Days are the bridge between our clients and our dog care team. They provide exceptional client service through in-person interactions, phone calls, and emails while ensuring accurate and detailed bookings and record keeping for every dog in our care. Receptionists are also cross-trained as Daycare Attendants, spending at least half of their schedule actively supervising and caring for dogs in our playgroups. This dual role builds a foundation for career growth and ensures that our team can flexibly meet business needs. Front of House (Reception): Greet clients warmly and professionally, creating a welcoming and positive experience. Manage reservations and ensure all client and dog information is accurate in our Gingr software.
Handle detailed administrative tasks:

Communicate with clients about their dog's behavior, wellness, and care using precise, professional terminology consistent with modern standards in canine health and behavior that reflects Dog Days' care philosophy. Answer and respond to phone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries in a timely and professional manner. Handle cash transactions accurately and maintain the cash drawer. Keep the reception and client-facing areas clean, organized, and stocked. Back of House (Yard Support): Supervise and interact with groups of dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments, ensuring safety and enrichment at all times. Monitor dog behavior closely, recognize early signs of stress or escalation, and intervene using safe, accurate approaches grounded in current professional understanding of canine behavior. Implement enrichment activities that meet dogs' full range of behavioral needs, supporting their wellbeing and happiness. Accurately track attendance, activities, feeding, and wellness updates on daily sheets and in Gingr software. Assist with feeding preparation and administration, following all owner instructions. Perform basic grooming tasks (nail trims with a Dremel, baths, brushing, ear cleaning, etc.) as directed. Communicate clearly with management about dog behavior, health concerns, or other observations.
