Job Overview Join our vibrant team as a Kennel Technician and Doggie Daycare Attendant, where your passion for animals and energetic attitude will make a real difference in the lives of pets and their owners! In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care, handling, and enrichment for dogs in our kennel and daycare facilities. Your enthusiasm will help create a safe, clean, and engaging environment that promotes pet well-being and customer satisfaction. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your animal care skills while working in a lively, pet-focused setting. Duties Safely handle and restrain dogs of various sizes and temperaments using animal handling techniques. Feed, water, and monitor pets' health and behavior throughout their stay or daycare visit. Maintain cleanliness of kennels, play areas, and common spaces to ensure a hygienic environment. Assist with pet grooming, including brushing, bathing, and basic trimming as needed. Observe dogs for signs of stress or illness; communicate concerns to veterinary staff or management promptly. Engage pets with stimulating activities, obedience training exercises, and socialization to promote positive behavior. Support pet sitting services by providing attentive care during owner absences or special requests. Heavy lifting of supplies, bedding, or equipment to support daily operations. Ensure compliance with safety protocols during animal handling and restraint procedures. Provide excellent customer service by answering client questions and updating owners on their pets' well-being. Experience Prior experience working with animals in a kennel, veterinary clinic, pet grooming salon, or dog daycare setting is highly preferred. Knowledge of dog training techniques and behavioral management is advantageous. Veterinary technician or assistant experience provides valuable insight into pet health monitoring. Familiarity with animal restraint methods and handling equipment ensures safe interactions with pets. Strong background in pet grooming, pet sitting, or animal care enhances your ability to meet diverse client needs. Excellent customer service skills are essential for building trust with pet owners. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks involving heavy lifting while maintaining a gentle touch with animals.
