Job Summary Rooney Groom is a mobile dog grooming company that serves the San Diego area. We provide a full set of dog grooming services from tail to nose and everything in between! Groomers travel from home to home in our company vehicles, providing grooming and customer service to our clients. We view our groomers as partners in the business because you're going to be on the road, solo, representing our team and our brand. To our clients, you are Rooney Groom. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive grooming services including bathing, trimming, brushing, nail clipping, ear cleaning, gland expression, and styling tailored to each dog's needs and breed standards Safely handle dogs of varying sizes, ages, and temperaments using proper, humane restraint techniques Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized grooming environment within the mobile unit at all times Operate company vehicles safely and responsibly while on route and on site Communicate clearly with pet owners to understand preferences, set expectations, and provide professional guidance on ongoing pet care Complete appointments efficiently while still giving dogs the time, patience, and attention they need Monitor pets throughout the groom for signs of stress or potential health concerns and communicate those observations to pet owners when appropriate Requirements Proven professional dog grooming experience Strong animal handling skills and the ability to work calmly and confidently with dogs Ability to assist dogs during the groom, including occasional lifting (all vans are equipped with hydraulic tables to protect your body) A customer-service mindset — we treat our clients as long-term partners, not transactions Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and comfort operating a mobile grooming vehicle Reliability, honesty, and clear communication — people are counting on you Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, or evenings as needed to meet client demand Why Rooney If you take pride in your work, value trust and communication, and want the freedom that comes with responsibility, you'll feel at home here.
