Responsibilities Perform grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and nail clipping to meet each dog's specific needs and breed standards Handle dogs safely and confidently, utilizing proper animal restraint techniques to ensure comfort and safety during grooming procedures Assess each pet's coat condition and skin health, providing recommendations for ongoing care or veterinary referral if necessary Maintain a clean and organized grooming station, ensuring all tools are sanitized and equipment is in excellent working order Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand grooming preferences and provide advice on pet care and maintenance Assist with pet handling during appointments, demonstrating gentle animal handling skills to reduce stress and promote trust Support team members with additional animal handling tasks such as kennel cleaning or pet sitting when needed Requirements Proven experience in pet grooming, with a strong focus on dog handling and pet care techniques Knowledge of dog training principles and veterinary experience is highly desirable to understand animal behavior and health considerations Familiarity with veterinary technician or assistant roles, especially related to animal restraint and health assessment Ability to lift heavy objects safely, including large dogs or grooming equipment, demonstrating physical strength and stamina Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with pet owners Prior kennel or animal shelter experience is a plus, showcasing your animal handling expertise in busy environments A genuine passion for animals combined with a positive attitude and team-oriented mindset Join us in creating happy, healthy pets through expert grooming and compassionate care!
