The ideal candidate will have a love for animals and the skills necessary to provide exceptional grooming services. This role requires a blend of technical grooming abilities and strong interpersonal skills to ensure that both pets and their owners have a positive experience. Duties Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and nail clipping for various breeds of dogs and cats. Assess the condition of pets' coats and skin to determine appropriate grooming techniques. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the grooming area, ensuring all tools and equipment are sanitized after each use. Communicate with pet owners about their pets' needs, grooming options, and any health concerns observed during the grooming process. Handle pets safely and comfortably, utilizing proper animal restraint techniques when necessary. Provide additional services such as ear cleaning or teeth brushing as requested by pet owners. Stay updated on grooming trends, techniques, and best practices to enhance service quality. Skills Proven experience in pet grooming is preferred; however, training may be available for candidates with related skills. Knowledge of animal care principles, including basic veterinary care and pet behavior. Familiarity with various breeds' grooming requirements and styles. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and understand their needs. Ability to perform heavy lifting when handling larger animals or equipment. Experience in related fields such as veterinary technician work, dog training, or equine care is a plus. Compassionate attitude towards animals with a focus on their well-being during all interactions.
