Looking for Experienced Pet Professionals Independent Contractor Roles

WiseDog Pet Care is building a small, dependable team of independent contractors who want to align themselves with an established professional pet care business. We want to create a community of professionals to assist our clients with all their pet care needs. We are looking for professionals who share a commitment to their profession, a high standard of care, and a service-minded approach, placing the pet and pet parent at the heart of their business. Availability Requirements (Current Priority Hiring Needs) AM shift (6:30 AM•10:30 AM) PM shift (5:00 PM•9:00 PM)

Overnight Stays:

7:00 PM•7:00

AM Extended Companion Care:

5-hour uninterrupted care blocks

Service Area Requirement:

Our primary service areas consist of Clermont (34711), Minneola (34714), Montverde (34756), and Groveland (34736). We are only considering applicants who live within our service area for the AM/PM shifts. For extended stay services, we may consider applicants who live in neighboring communities like Mascotte, South Clermont (34714), Oakland, Leesburg, and Howey-in-the-Hills About the Role Weekly pay + tips Flexible schedule Work volume may vary week to week; however, reliability and follow-through on accepted assignments are essential Ongoing support and structure from an established professional pet care team What You'll Do Provide thoughtful, individualized care for primarily dogs and cats, including feedings, medications, enrichment, and companionship Maintain a calm, consistent presence in the home during visits and extended care assignments Observe pet behavior closely and respond appropriately to changes Communicate clearly and professionally with detailed updates Support basic home care tasks as needed This Role Is NOT a Fit For Individuals looking for a full-time, employee-based position with consistent hours Those with limited or unpredictable availability Individuals who do not like to drive or be outside in all types of weather Those looking for an "easy side gig" or temporary work Who THRIVES in This Role Has professional pet care experience (grooming, vet assistants, vet techs, vet clinic office support, force-free training, pet transport, rescue work, kennel techs, boarding facilities) Is comfortable working independently and problem-solving in the moment Can handle dogs and cats of different sizes and temperaments with a fear-free approach Demonstrates strong responsibility, attentiveness, and follow-through Communicates clearly and proactively Has reliable transportation and is a confident driver in all types of weather Next Step (Read Carefully Before Applying)To be considered, applicants must: Submit a resume that clearly reflects professional pet care, animal handling, or rescue experience Complete the WiseDog Pet Care application in full, with thoughtful, detailed responses We review applications for attention to detail, communication, and follow-through—not just experience.
