Responsibilities Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and styling according to breed standards and customer preferences Handle dogs safely and confidently, using proper animal restraint techniques to ensure comfort and safety during grooming procedures Assess each pet's coat condition, skin health, and overall well-being to recommend appropriate grooming treatments or veterinary referrals if needed Maintain a clean, organized grooming area by sanitizing tools, cages, and workstations regularly Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand grooming requests, provide updates on pet health or behavior, and offer pet care advice Assist with pet handling during appointments, including loading/unloading from kennels or transport crates when necessary Support team members with additional animal care tasks such as pet sitting or kennel duties when required Skills Proven experience in pet grooming with a focus on dog styling and hygiene standards Strong animal handling skills with the ability to work confidently with dogs of all sizes and temperaments Knowledge of dog training techniques to manage behavior during grooming sessions Familiarity with veterinary procedures or veterinary technician/assistant experience is a plus for assessing health concerns Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for moving equipment or assisting larger dogs Excellent customer service skills to ensure a positive client experience and foster loyalty Basic animal care knowledge including pet sitting, pet care routines, and animal restraint techniques Join us in creating a welcoming environment where dogs feel safe and loved while showcasing your grooming expertise!
