Job Description Job Summary Consistently perform tasks with correct animal behavior techniques to provide a safe and fun environment for all dogs and coworkers. Provide quality customer service to each and every person that calls or visits the facility. General Accountability ∙ Provide vital day to day care of boarded animals. This includes, but is not limited to, play time, continuous behavioral conditioning, feeding, watering, medicating, training, bathing, and clean up both inside and outside of pet waste. ∙ To be active inside and outside the facility, in heat, cold, rain or wind, with exercising, running, playing, training, and jumping with dogs on camera at all times. •Employees and dogs not allowed outside when lightning present. ∙ Maintain the physical health of an animal with proper care and prevention techniques such as, but not limited to, towel drying, blow drying, nail trimming, ear cleaning. Also includes general first aid for cuts, scrapes, bites, puncture wounds, broken nails, hot spots, vomiting, diarrhea, and any other physical ailment. ∙ To be able to conduct facility tours and temperament tests, including body checks on TT dogs with open mindedness, patience and professional techniques, and record any pertinent information onto the pet profile. ∙ Be able to perform physical duties such as lifting heavy objects at minimum, but not limited to, 50 pounds. ∙ Understand and perform all opening and closing duties, including locking doors, cleaning routine, setting alarm, and using company equipment and programs, including check ins, check outs, emails and record keeping. (Must sign off on charting) ∙ Understand and execute cleaning duties that need to be done on a daily and/or weekly basis ∙ Prepare, clean and maintain suites and rooms to professional standards. Including being able to hand scrub areas on hands and knees. ∙ Keep the facility clean at all times by vacuuming, sweeping, steaming or picking up trash, leaves etc. from facility grounds as needed, not as assigned. ∙ Assist in completing dog's check in: Filling out locker board with feeding instructions, making sure all dog items are labeled with name, putting up scorecards, setting up dog's room, and having water bowl in room. ∙ Assist in dog check outs: Complete and record information on dog report cards on a daily basis. Include information on report cards of any overnight bowel accidents, room/property damage, dog fights, and general health. •Meet and greet owner with report card. ∙ Be able to communicate with clients and future clients via phone, fax, email or in person. Communicate = able to inform the client about facility operations, pricing, requirements and availability. Communicate = Being able to express your needs for performing your job correctly and efficiently. Communicate = having a positive attitude with coworkers and management. ∙ Continue pet care education through websites, videos and magazines. ∙ Examine and observe animals (body checks)to detect signs of illness, disease, or injury ∙ •The Company reserves the right to add or change duties at any time
Job Qualifications Minimum Education:
High School Graduate or Equivalent preferred.
Preferred Experience:
One (1) year of job related experience, Vet Tech or Animal Care degree. Reliable, own transportation. Skills Must perform general physical activities inside and outside the facility. Must possess basic knowledge of the language and terminologies used in this occupation. Knowledge of correct dog breeds, dog anatomy, dog commands and vaccinations. Must be team player... assist dogs out and into the facility, assist Office Manager, Administrative Assistant, Sr. Pet Techs, Pet Techs and receptionist. Must be able to examine and observe animals to detect signs of illness, disease, or injury. Must possess the ability to perform cleaning duties as directed by supervisors. Must possess the ability to receive and follow direction. Must possess excellent verbal communication skills. Must possess excellent interpersonal skills. Must be punctual. Must be proactive.
Skills:
Machine Phone and computer network. Includes answering phones, emails and receiving faxes. Know the correct procedures for use of the photocopier and scanner Be able to use a vacuum, steamer, scrub brush, broom, and occasionally a pressure washer, leaf blower.
