Responsibilities Perform grooming services including bathing, trimming, brushing, nail clipping, ear cleaning, and styling tailored to each dog's breed and individual needs Handle dogs safely and humanely using proper animal restraint techniques to ensure comfort and safety for both pets and staff Assess each dog's coat condition and skin health, providing recommendations for ongoing pet care or veterinary referrals when necessary Maintain a clean and organized grooming station, ensuring all tools are sanitized and equipment is in excellent working order Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand grooming preferences, provide advice on pet care, and address any special needs or concerns Assist with basic dog training or handling techniques to improve cooperation during grooming sessions Support team members with general kennel or animal handling duties as needed, including pet sitting or overseeing pet care areas Experience Prior experience in pet grooming or animal handling is highly preferred; certification in pet grooming is a plus Knowledge of dog training techniques and veterinary experience enhances your ability to handle diverse breeds and temperaments effectively Background in veterinary technician or veterinary assistant roles provides valuable insights into animal health and safety procedures Experience working with animals such as horses or other livestock can be beneficial for handling larger or more energetic dogs Strong customer service skills are essential for building trust with pet owners and delivering exceptional service Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling large dogs or equipment is required Previous kennel experience or animal care roles demonstrates your dedication to pet well-being Join us in creating a welcoming environment where pets feel loved, cared for, and beautifully groomed!
