Job Description
Job Overview We're looking for dedicated, hard-working individuals with a true passion for animals and conservation to join our team of zookeepers. Our ideal candidates are enthusiastic about providing exceptional animal care, inspiring guests through education and engagement, and contributing to wildlife preservation efforts both locally and globally. This role requires a strong work ethic, teamwork, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and welfare for the animals in our care. If you're ready to make a difference and be part of a mission-driven team, we'd love to hear from you! As a Zookeeper, you will play a vital role in the care and management of our animals. This position requires a deep commitment to animal welfare and conservation, as well as the ability to educate the public about wildlife. You will work closely with various species, ensuring their health, safety, and enrichment while maintaining a clean and safe environment for both animals and visitors. Duties Provide daily care for animals, including preparing diets, feeding, cleaning enclosures, and monitoring health. Uphold and Maintain Zoo Worlds animal welfare, care and safety standards. Conduct behavioral observations to assess animal welfare and enrichment needs. Educate visitors through the use of ambassador animals, keeper talks , and up-close experiences. Assist senior staff as needed with administering medications, providing treatment and restraint. Identify maintenance issues and resolve or report as necessary. Document animal records with accuracy. Communicate with curator/management any and all changes in behavior, diet consumption, and medical concerns.

Bachelors degree or higher with at least 1 internship, or High school graduate with at least 2 years paid experience Good interpersonal and communication skills Must be able to interact with guests in a professional and courteous manner. Must be able to learn and integrate information, knowledge and direction quickly. Must be reliable and show initiative. Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and on writing. Must be able to lift and carry 75 lbs. Understands this is an outside working environment in all types of weather. Understands we work on a rotating schedule. This position is suited for individuals who are passionate about wildlife conservation and eager to contribute positively to the lives of animals while engaging with the public.Job Type:
