Responsibilities Take dogs on daily walks, up to one mile at a time, ensuring they receive proper exercise tailored to their size, breed, and energy level (Summer walking is limited) Provide attentive pet sitting services, including feeding, administering medication if needed, and maintaining a clean environment Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques and animal handling skills to ensure both pet and personal safety Monitor pets' behavior and health during walks or visits, reporting any concerns or unusual symptoms promptly Assist with basic pet grooming tasks such as brushing or bathing when required Support pet care routines by following specific instructions related to diet, medication, or special needs Skills Proven experience in dog handling or pet sitting, with a strong understanding of animal behavior and canine communication. Veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience is highly valued for recognizing health issues and providing appropriate care Knowledge of animal restraint techniques and general animal handling skills to ensure safety during interactions Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for transporting supplies or assisting larger animals Excellent customer service skills to build trust with pet owners and address their concerns professionally Familiarity with kennel experience or animal care environments enhances your ability to manage multiple pets effectively This role is perfect for energetic individuals eager to make a positive impact on pets' lives while enjoying the flexibility of varied daily routines.
