Duties Perform professional grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and nail clipping to meet each pet's specific needs and breed standards Handle dogs safely and confidently, ensuring proper animal restraint and comfort throughout the grooming process Assess each pet's coat condition, skin health, and overall behavior to tailor grooming techniques accordingly Maintain a clean, organized grooming station, including sanitizing tools and equipment after each use Communicate effectively with pet owners to discuss grooming preferences, special needs, or health concerns Recognize signs of veterinary issues or discomfort and advise clients on appropriate veterinary or pet care referral Qualifications Proven experience in pet grooming with a strong understanding of dog handling techniques Knowledge of dog training principles and veterinary experience is highly desirable Familiarity with animal restraint methods and pet care best practices Ability to lift heavy objects (heavy lifting) such as large dogs or equipment safely and comfortably Excellent customer service skills to ensure positive interactions with clients and their pets Background in veterinary technician or assistant roles, animal handling, experience is a plus Strong attention to detail, patience, and compassion for animals of all temperaments.
