Responsibilities Perform professional grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and brushing to meet each dog's specific needs and breed standards Handle dogs safely and confidently using proper animal restraint techniques to ensure comfort and security during grooming procedures Assess each pet's coat condition, skin health, and overall well-being to tailor grooming plans accordingly Maintain a clean and organized grooming station, ensuring all tools and equipment are sanitized and in excellent condition Communicate clearly with pet owners about grooming preferences, special needs, and after-care instructions Assist with pet handling during check-in and check-out processes, providing friendly customer service at all times Support animal handling tasks beyond grooming when needed, including pet sitting or kennel duties, ensuring animals are well cared for throughout their visit Experience Prior experience in pet grooming or animal handling is highly preferred Knowledge of dog training techniques and veterinary experience is a plus for understanding pet behavior and health considerations Background in veterinary technician or veterinary assistant roles demonstrates strong animal care skills Experience with animal restraint, pet care, and kennel management enhances your ability to handle diverse situations confidently Familiarity with heavy lifting is beneficial for managing larger dogs or equipment safely Exceptional customer service skills are essential for building trust with pet owners and fostering repeat business Previous work involving pet sitting or equine experience adds valuable versatility to your skill set
Pay:
$22.74 - $27.39 per hour
