Responsibilities Perform professional grooming services including bathing, trimming, brushing, nail clipping, ear cleaning, and styling tailored to each pet's breed and individual needs. Handle animals with care and confidence, utilizing proper restraint techniques to ensure safety during grooming procedures. Assess each pet's health and behavior before grooming; communicate any concerns or abnormalities to veterinary staff promptly. Assist with dog training activities and reinforce positive behaviors during grooming sessions. Maintain a clean and sanitary grooming area by disinfecting tools and workspaces regularly. Provide exceptional customer service by explaining grooming procedures, answering questions, and ensuring pet owners are satisfied with the results. Support veterinary team members with animal handling tasks as needed, including kennel duties or light pet sitting. Lift heavy equipment or pets safely when necessary, following proper safety protocols. Experience Prior experience in pet grooming is required; familiarity with pet styling techniques is highly valued. Experience working with animals in veterinary settings such as veterinary technician or assistant roles is preferred. Knowledge of dog training methods and dog handling skills are advantageous. Background in animal care disciplines such as veterinary experience or kennel work enhances your suitability for this role. Demonstrated ability to handle diverse animals including dogs, cats, and equines with patience and professionalism. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners. Physical stamina for heavy lifting, standing for extended periods, and performing detailed grooming tasks confidently.
